Key Responsibilities:
The E-commerce Business Analyst plays a vital role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. They ensure that the technology effectively supports the business strategy, enhances the customer experience, and drives business growth. As a Medior Business Analyst for commerce, you will be responsible for analysing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and specifying technical solutions in Digital Commerce architectures. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, develop solutions with the tech team, and implement changes that drive business growth.
As an E-commerce Business Analyst at VML, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across different industries. You will use your analytical skills to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can help our clients make better business decisions in the process of implementing solutions. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
What you will do as a Medior Business Analyst:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define and document project scope
- Facilitate meetings and workshops with stakeholders to drive consensus and decision-making
- Identify and evaluate potential solutions, including cost-benefit analysis
- Design and document business processes and workflows
- Connect all different disciplines to get the most value out of all expertise collaboration in or cross team (Omni-channel, UX/UI Design, SEO, Data, Tech, Integrations, Legal and other)
- Develop and maintain project documentation
- Support project implementation and change management activities
- Guide the development teams in requirements, acceptance criteria and client expectations on the solution
- Guide (client) stakeholders to make informed decisions in priority and solution requirements
Who you are:
- Collaborator with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate and document them into functional requirements
- Facilitator of workshops and interviews to shape scope and gather insights
- Analytic and have an eye for improving business processes and customer journeys
- Skilled at evaluating potential solutions and conducting thorough cost-benefit analyses to inform decision-making.
- Able to clearly document workflows, requirements, and technical dependencies in structured and accessible formats.
- Experienced in supporting and facilitating alignment across diverse teams, including Commerce, UX/UI, SEO, Tech, Data, Legal, and Integration.
- Comfortable clarifying priorities and trade-offs with stakeholders to ensure delivery stays on track and focused on value.
- Dedicated to providing continuous support to development teams throughout sprints and acceptance testing, ensuring client and end-user expectations are met.
- Passionate about sharing knowledge internally and fostering a strong product mindset within the team.
- Proactive in identifying and addressing gaps or blockers during delivery and rollout, ensuring smooth handover and successful implementation.
What you'll need:
The basics
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or other related fields
- 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role
- Working knowledge of digital (headless) commerce ecosystems (B2B/B2C), including platforms and environments like CMS, Search, ERP, OMS, CDP, Analytics tools and marketing automation
- Experience working in Agile teams (incl. tools like Jira, Confluence or similar)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong structured thinking, paired with solid documentation skills
- Good technical understanding (e.g. Restful APIs, web front-ends, system integrations)
- Currently residing in The Netherlands and with a valid work permit
Bonus points
- Experience with UX/UI design & implementation (Figma, Zeplin or other)
- Previous experience in consulting or digital agency environments
- Proficiency in Dutch (not required but helpful)

- A monthly salary between €4,100 and €4,800 gross, depending on your experience and fit with the role
- A gross annual 8% holiday allowance pay.
