"After almost 8 years I have decided to step down from my position as Global CEO of 180 Global at the end of the year. These past two years we have planned for my succession (with Agathe Guerrier in the US and Stephen Corlett in Amsterdam) and this has given me the clarity and courage to decide it’s time for a fresh chapter in my life. My aim is to have a true open mind about what is next and I will take my time in 2025 to discover where I will spend the next years of my life.
It was an honour to lead 180 for all these years and stand on the shoulders of giants (Al Moseley, Chris Mendola) that came before me. I believe in the promise of 180 to inspire the world as it could be for our clients, our people and the industry. 180 has been and should remain the creative beacon within TBWA\Worldwide and Omnicom to remind us all that true creativity has the power to move mountains and deliver exponential value to the business of our clients.
I will be leaving 180 in the good care of Stephen Corlett in Amsterdam and Agathe Guerrier in the US. I'm certain they will lead 180 into new heights and raise the bar for our future teams. Stephen has been my dearest partner and friend for these past 8 years and it's been clear this past year that with his inspiring leadership, he will take 180 Amsterdam to new levels of creativity and innovation. Agathe is such an incredible smart and kind human being and her leadership will transform our US operation into one of the powerhouses in that market.
I want to thank Troy Ruhanen and Denis Streiff for being there for me for all these years. It was Troy who suggested our impactful merger 8 years ago between the company I founded with Sicco Beerda, Eric Ytsma, and Bram de Rooij Kingsday and 180. I don't think we could have foreseen how well that has turned out.
DDB Amsterdam is now in the good hands of Erik van Engelen who together with Pol Hoenderboom will surely build the bright future of DDB in the Dutch market.
There are many people within 180, Kingsday, TBWA, Omnicom, and within all those wonderful clients and partners that I could mention who have been so special all these years. I am extremely grateful for our time and I'm certain this is not a goodbye as with many of you we have build a connection for life.
The next few months I will be transitioning out of my role together with our leadership. And in 2025, I will take the time to discover my own new world as it could be!"
