RA*W komt ook dit jaar met een mooie delegatie naar Cannes. Iedere dag stellen mensen uit de delegatie zich voor. Vandaag is dat Dody van den Bos.

What do you do in the creative industry?

I’m a content creator and freelance creative.

When I say Cannes, what’s the first word that comes to mind, and why?

Champions League! My first introduction to the advertising world was through Tanya. She taught me a lot about the ins and outs of the industry and often used sports as a reference. So for me, Cannes feels like the Champions League of creativity.

What are you hoping to learn from the other participants?

I’m hoping to learn more about their work experience and how they navigate between commercial work and their own passion projects.

What would make this week in Cannes a success for you?

Honestly, just being there already feels like a success story. But it would be even better if I could find job opportunities, possible internships or anything that could help me take the next step in my career.

What are you expecting most: inspiration, chaos, or networking overload?

A lot of inspiration and definitely chaos. I’ve heard Cannes is intense, but also so worth it. I’m expecting the unexpected and I’m ready to be blown away.

What makes a campaign truly Cannes-worthy in your opinion?

A Cannes-worthy campaign dares to be different. It has a certain edge that sets it apart from the norm. It pushes advertising forward and gives us a glimpse of what the new standard could be.

Who’s a speaker or brand you’re hoping to see this year?

Steven Bartlett, Oprah, Takeshi Sano, Adam Mosseri and so many more!

What’s definitely in your Cannes survival kit?

Powerbanks and good perfume!

AI: threat or tool, and how do you think it will change the future of creativity?

Tool! AI can really help the creative process when it’s used in the right way. But if it becomes a replacement for creativity, it won’t push us forward. By nature, AI copies and builds from existing media, so the real creative spark still has to come from people.

Why do you think more juniors should experience something like this?

Because it gives juniors a sense of where they can go. It puts things into perspective and shows how much there still is to learn, while also giving you the opportunity to meet people you look up to.
