About the role
As an Account Director at The Invaders, you play a crucial role at the intersection of strategy, creativity and naturally, our clients.
You are a relationship architect and a consulting advisor. You don’t just manage accounts, you elevate them. You see clients as partners, not projects. You think long game. You speak fluent English, maar kan ook vloeiend in het Nederlands opereren. You bring an appreciation for gaming culture, but it really doesn’t matter to us if you’re an elite esports pro or just love killing time in Candy Crush.
As Account Director, you own the client experience end to end: from business strategy, through planning and delivery, to growth and renewal. You lead with clarity, influence with empathy, and are always focused on delivering results for our clients.
What you’ll do
Account Management & Client Relationships
- Act as the trusted partner for strategic conversations and roadmap direction with key clients
- Lead and inspire internal teams (strategy, creative, production, media) toward unified goals
- Translate client business goals into smart briefs, clear priorities, and measurable outcomes
- Proactively identify commercial opportunities such as upselling and cross-selling
- Develop and present proposals and progress reports
- Support strategy and creative teams in translating client insights into creative briefs and campaigns
- Drive relationship expansion by spotting opportunities for deeper collaboration, upsell, and innovation
- Build trust through transparency, accountability, and a strong delivery rhythm
Strategic & Organisational Role
- Report to management on progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement
- Analyse market trends and client data to improve strategy and service offering
- Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders (creative, strategy) and external partners
- Risk management: identify risks in projects and operational processes and implement solutions
Ideal profile
- Minimum of 6–8 years of experience in account roles within a creative agency
- Strong communication skills, both towards clients and internal teams
- Strategic insight combined with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset
- Proven experience in budget management and project financials
- Broad understanding of media in the widest sense of the word
- Bachelor’s or Master’s level education, preferably in marketing, communication, or business administration
- Affinity with entertainment and brand building is a giant plus
- Used to working with international clients and fluent in both Dutch and English
- In possession of a valid driver’s license (B)
