Countdown to Cannes - Britt Oude Lenferink

[RA*W] Maak kennis met de creatieve crew van de Summercourse 2025

RA*W is heading back to Cannes — and they’re bringing a brand-new crew of curious, creative minds along for the ride! In the countdown to the festival, MarketingReport will be introducing you to the RA*W Summercourse 2025 delegation. Get to know the fresh talent who will be experiencing Cannes up close and their unique perspectives from the heart of the advertising world.

Who are you and what do you do in the creative industry?

Hi, I'm Britt Oude Lenfderink — a creative copywriter and concept developer based in Amsterdam. I'm 26 and have been freelancing for the past three years. What started as a side hustle while traveling has grown into my full-time job. I help brands shape their tone of voice and create sharp, scroll-stopping social concepts. From short and punchy to long and in-depth, from dead serious to light and playful.

When I say Cannes, what's the first word that comes to mind — and why?

Inspiration! I honestly think Cannes is one of the best places to learn from seasoned creatives. I was just scrolling through the speaker lineup again, and my head instantly filled with questions I’d love to ask them.

What are your expectations for Cannes?

I've already looked at the summer course program a few times, and I think we're just going to have an amazing time together. During the day, we'll probably be bombarded with inspiring cases, cool stories, and networking opportunities — and in the evening, we’ll wind down with some dancing and the occasional glass of rosé. I mostly expect to come back with a head full of ideas — and maybe already missing it a little.

Will you end up in the gutter, or will you be at the Palais at 9 a.m. sharp?

Believe it or not, I’m usually a total morning person — so I can definitely see myself at the Palais by 9:00 a.m. That said, I’m a little wary of the infamous gutter. I mean, I’d already feel bad if someone else were footing the bill and my daytime focus took a hit — but since I’m paying for this course out of my own freelance pocket, it would feel extra painful if late nights messed with all the inspiration I’m hoping to soak up. But hey, that’s easy to say now. Who knows what will happen once we’re there.

What's the one thing you must pack for Cannes?

A disposable camera — such a fun way to capture and relive trips. It's always a surprise to see what comes out when you get the film developed. And LOTS of sunscreen (life’s not easy when you're a bit ginger).

What are you most looking forward to: the talks, the people, or the beach?

Did I already mention I’m terrible at making decisions? I think I’m allowed to pick all three here.

Who's a speaker or brand you're hoping to see this year?

I'd love to hear from Zaria Parvez, Senior Global Social Media Manager at my favorite app Duolingo (and I saw they’re bringing the owl too — OMG). I’m also super curious about the talks from the people at The New York Times. And Jake Shane, because I think he’s hilarious.

What brand do you think is killing it creatively right now?

I really like how Duolingo shows up on socials. Oatly’s the best at breaking all the traditional advertising rules while still making the coolest stuff. I’m also a big fan of the British cereal brand SURREAL. And since we’re talking food anyway, Dutch brands Holie and UPFRONT are killing it too.

What does creativity mean to you in one word?

Fun!

How many more nights to sleep?

1 more night!
