RA*W komt ook dit jaar met een mooie delegatie naar Cannes. Iedere dag stellen mensen uit de delegatie zich voor. Vandaag is dat Celine Prevos.
What do you do in the creative industry?
I’m Celine Prevos, 29 year old. I work as Communications Design Director (media consultant) at a media agency called Initiative. We make media plans for our clients and make sure they get noticed by their target audience.
When I say Cannes, what’s the first word that comes to mind — and why?
Goal - since I started in media a few years ago it was always my goal to go to Cannes to compete in the Young Lions competition. It is cool to be able to attend such a creative event where only the best work will be showed.
What are you hoping to learn from the other participants?
A broader, maybe more creative, view. Media talks more about which channels to use to reach a certain audience. The other participants are most like working in more creative roles and I hope they can teach me some of their tips and tricks.
What would make this week in Cannes a success for you?
Winning Young Lions (or at least top 3). No, I am kidding. Although that would be AMAZING. It will also be a success if we don't win (even though that's the ultimate goal). What will make this week a succes is meeting new people, broadening my mindset and learning something.
What are you expecting most: inspiration, chaos, or networking overload?
Do I have to choose?
What makes a campaign truly Cannes-worthy in your opinion?
Creativity, the wow-factor but also finding a good insight and building on that.
Who’s a speaker or brand you’re hoping to see this year?
I don't think he's gonna be there but ultimate goal would be to attend a session by Jonah Berger.
What’s definitely in your Cannes survival kit?
A fan? To keep me cool while working our asses off
AI: threat or tool, and how do you think it will change the future of creativity?
Tool! I don't think computers can replace creative thinking. It will mostly help us take away the boring tasks and leaves more time to get creative and make cooler work.
Why do you think more juniors should experience something like this?
Because it helps them improve their skills and it's a very nice experience.
